The Spa Touch sends out a very low and ultra safe wave of light, which generates heat and is drawn to the hair follicle.

The hair shaft then absorbs the heat and transfers it down to the bulb and greatly inhibits the hair re-growth.

Hair reduction - before and after treatment with the LHE™ Spa Touch.
Other treatments - Hair removal
Long-Term hair reduction has been defined as hair removal that typically lasts for several months and in some cases even longer. In order to achieve this kind of long- lasting result it is necessary to remove the hair down to the root and target the hair bulb itself.
After much research into the various lasers and Intense Pulsed Light units available for hair reduction, Lyte was the first clinic to introduce the Light Heat Energy (LHE™) principal of Laser hair removal to Adelaide.
A New Technology
New research has lead to the development of the LHE™ technology, a breakthrough treatment that far surpasses the results of traditional or comparable laser methods.

How It Works
A human hair is made up of three main parts:
- The Hair Shaft
- The Follicle
- The Bulb
To bring about successful long term hair removal it is necessary to thermally damage the structures in the hair root responsible for hair growth, namely the papilla (bulb) and bulge. Damage to the bulb and bulge occurs at approximately 74°C. The thermal destruction of these two elements serves to prevent or significantly delay future hair growth.
To raise the temperature inside the follicle, LHE uses the hair shaft as a conduit. Melanin in the hair shaft, as the targeted chromophore, absorbs the light which is then converted to heat inside the follicle.
Normally, it requires a very intense light source applied to the skin to reach a sufficient temperature inside the follicle. LHE, however, overcomes this and significantly lowers the energy by combining the light with a directed heat process contained within the lamp of the machine.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
It is always possible for new hair to grow after any form of hair removal treatment whether it is electrolysis, laser or waxing. However, laser treatment is the nearest we can get to achieving long term excellent results. Occasionally it is possible to see the re-growth of small amounts of hair over a period of time but this is usually weaker and lighter in colour and can be treated again if necessary.
The exact time that the hair stays gone between treatments depends on the area being treated as well as one's hair and skin factors.
It may be that re-growth will occur after a year or so and this can be caused by hormonal changes in the body.
How long do the treatments take?
This depends on the area being treated and ranges from 15 minutes for the upper lip or chin and bikini line to 60 minutes for the back or the legs.
What should I expect following the treatment?
At the end of each treatment, the treated area may show slight reddening which tends to disappear after only a few minutes. The hairs remain in the skin but those that have been damaged by the laser will gradually drop out over the following 2 weeks. This sometimes gives the appearance of the hair growing more quickly than normal but is really due to the hair being shed from the skin.
Are there any side effects?
Usually the treated area has only a temporary redness which disappears quickly. Occasionally, a hot spot may last for more than a couple of hours and infrequently a blister may appear. In some cases, the treated area may heal with a temporary dark coloration which disappears after several weeks. In rare cases, the treated area may heal with a loss of pigmentation which can be permanent. Scarring or permanent skin discoloration is possible, but fortunately is extremely rare.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required will vary dependent on the hair colour, the skin colour and hair thickness. The courser the hair, darker skin and pale hair colour will often require more sessions. Typically 6 to 8 sessions will be sufficient to treat the average person with pale skin and dark hair.
Typically 6 or 8 treatments are required in a white skin and maybe 8 or 10 in a darker skin. However, some clients may require more treatments to achieve the desired result.
As the treatment depends on the light energy being absorbed by the pigment colour of the hair, black and dark brown hair responds quicker than light brown and blonde hair. As white, grey, platinum blond hair contains virtually no pigment; laser hair removal is unlikely to effective on these hair colours.
Why do I need more than one treatment?
The laser can only affect those follicles that have a hair in them. Only about one third of your follicles are growing at any given time.
Hair grows in a 3-phase cycle- it has a growing phase, a dormancy phase and a resting phase. Only hair that is in the growing (anagen) phase can be successfully removed with the laser. At any one time approximately 85% of hairs are in the anagen phase.
The number of treatments required will depend upon the hair density, colour, skin type and treatment area, together with ethnic background and hormonal factors.
How often will I need treatments?
Different body areas require different intervals between retreatment. This is due to differing types of hair, hormone levels and hair growth cycles. The length of time between treatments will increase after a few treatments. After the first few sessions, you will rebook your appointments when you see approximately 30% regrowth.
